Are your spring bulbs breaking ground? Should you do something about it? When we get unseasonably warm temperatures in mid to late winter, the early spring bulbs and perennials will begin to react to the warm ground. If the temperatures drop before the plant buds, you are in the clear! These plants should stand the temperature change. However, if you see the plant has flowering buds you may want to take extra precaution. Budding plants are more vulnerable to drastic temperature changes. Simply cover these plants with leaves or mulch to help protect them from the weather.
